I get rather emotional when I look at where we have come from ….
We celebrate 6 years from the very first plea for help to keep alive orphans who in all probability would have died .
Our tiny Charity is fighting in boxing terms well above our weight..A wonderful core group of less than 20 who regularly give ; a wonderful group of additional people who respond to my pleadings for help with specific needs.
The good thing is we are recognised for making a huge difference in the lives of these children , making them valued, educated and with strong principles and morals, in a country often known for bribery and corruption.
Our Charity is unique that every dollar donated arrives in its entirety to the Orphanage with no costs, no wages
not a cent is deducted….and every month our funding goes to absolute essentials. ( some 61 items a month)
We have some special people to thank this month ….Tammy …a dear friend helping pay for our crop planting program which is essential to keep children alive…..along with Lea , Christine, Jan , Bev ….
Also welcome and thanks for the Piper and Garner families …
We had the privilege of having Bev ( from Oamaru ) and her two friends Jan and Nathalie visit the Orphanage of Hope …last week for a day, which from all accounts was a very profoundly moving experience…..lots of singing , dancing hugs and smiles. Going through the correct security protocols was essential but the photos some of which are shown below are heart warming.

We are in need to start replacing mattresses in the sleeping areas….and in doing so we include a new mattress , a mattress protector a rug and a pillow . We need 50 mattress packages @ $65 a package ….we would love to have the old ones replaced by Christmas. Can our readers help ??
