Happy New Year !!!

Thank you so much for your support during 2024.

We have much to be thankful for and certainly there are challenges ahead...mind you no one day is the same in Africa.

This last year saw some of the longest wet periods on record, the huge global supply crisis , commodity prices going through the roof, the continuing weakest of the New Zealand Dollar, and the struggle to keep our orphans safe and secure ,fed and schooled.

But with your help, we had so many blessings which everyone is so thankful for....172 lives have and are being changed certainly for the better.

Last blog from me told of one of the highlights , that of increasing the number of goats , using a little plot of land, building shelters and fencing , and waiting ( like the pregnant goat mums) for new off spring to arrive. .

Well .. 2 baby goats arrived just after Christmas. ( photo below) there are more to come.

The children were so thankful and appreciative for the Christmas Meal and we are

grateful to NP and the Trinity Church ladies fellowship group from here in Temuka.

Having goats meat ( not our goats!! ) is quite a luxury even if the helpings are minute.

The photos are just some of many that I asked for from Cogan to share with you our valued readers and supporters.

On a sadder note Cogan, (who along with his wonderful wife Medius runs the Orphanage of Hope and Hope Education centre ), was rushed to hospital just a day before Christmas Day and great fears were held for his welfare. ( Heart ,Extremely high Blood Pressure and Malaria ...

He is now just returned after almost 12 days in hospital and the doctors are demanding he rest which is very wise but puts great strain on Medius. Running after a sick husband, 2 very young children, feeding and providing all the things that 172 children need day and night as well as teach and help cook meals is a colossal undertaking ...

I am at a loss to express adequate words that describe all the things that she does.

Please keep Cogan in your thoughts and prayers for a full recovery.

Stay watching for more updates... as always I will keep posting updates.

Kind Regards.

Lindsay
