Make My Name Count is a New Zealand non-profit organisation that works to build resources and reduce poverty in disadvantaged communities in Uganda.

Current Projects

Make My Name Count works in two areas of Uganda: Kakuuto in the South and Kabale in the West. Learn about two of our current projects below.

KAKUUTO BAKEHOUSE

The town of Kakuuto in South-West Uganda is one of the most impoverished areas in the world. In 2022, 20% of female and 14% of male youth were unemployed. Make My Name Count successfully built a bakehouse in 2016, employing 18 staff. This micro-enterprise is only the beginning of our mission to reduce unemployment in the local community.

ORPHANAGE OF HOPE

The Orphanage of Hope is home to 172 children on the outskirts of Kabale in South Western Uganda. In 2018 The Make My Name Count NZ Charitable Trust made a call out for support internationally for the task to help fund the development of facilities that 8 years later has blossomed into a fully Registered Orphanage and a 7 Classroom School and Skills Training Centre. Additionally having ownership of 11 acres of arable land to grow Vegetables and raise animals to feed the 172 Orphans.

Your Support

Each and every month between $11,000 and $16,000 New Zealand Dollars is sent to support the Orphans in over 50 essential items.

Without that support there would be no Orphanage of Hope and No hope for the children who would return to Poverty.
